The most likely vehicle for funding Health centers, CHIP and other programs now looks to be one of the upcoming “must-pass” Continuing Resolutions (CR) that Congress needs to pass in the coming weeks to keep the federal government funded.

We are expecting to see a CR this week to fund the government through December 22, this buys Congress additional time to negotiate on the many issues.

We would then expect another CR, before Dec. 22, funding the government through January (possibly alongside a separate defense spending bill).

In January, Congress will try to pass a larger omnibus spending bill to finish out the 2017-18 fiscal year.
